The Discontinuation of Service Support

31.03.2009The machines and equipment of Winkler+Dünnebier are known for their reliability and long life. W+D supports its machines for a minimum of 10 years through the sale of original spare parts, technical service and upgrades.
 
Due to changing technology and reduced numbers in the machine installed base, W+D has decided to discontinue support for certain older machine models. For these particular machines, W+D will not offer service support or spare parts after 31st March 2010. You will find a list of the discontinued machine types here. The list of the corresponding discontinued parts is now being prepared and will be published with the next W+D-Newsletter in November.

General information about the discontinuation of service support is described in our guidelines. This document describes certain options that may be available for your discontinued machine model.
This is the perfect time to take a close look at your production lines and invest in productivity and quality improvements that offer lower returns on your investment. Your partners on the W+D service team will be happy to show you the advantages our TIP program offers you. Please contact us.

Marc Niessen and Markus Schröder - New Regional Service Managers
 
W+D has a long history of quality service support for our customers. In these difficult times for the envelope industry, it is even more important for W+D to provide close assistance to our customers in order to help maximize profitability through improved productivity and product quality. To accomplish this task for our customers, we have focused on the development of machine retrofits and upgrades through the introduction of our TIP program. In addition, we continue to recognize the importance of day-to-day support with spare parts and technical support. As we move forward with our customers, it is necessary to make sure that we work closely with their appropriate personnel in providing information, quotations, and similar support.  
 
To support this effort at W+D, we are pleased to announce the appointment of two regional service managers - Mr. Marc Niessen and Mr. Markus Schröder - who will be available to assist our customers in their plants in investigating upgrade solutions for existing machines and to assist in any other service or parts related issues that may arise.

Both individuals have many years of technical experience with W+D and are very familiar with envelope production. In addition, these men are very familiar with machine technology and the challenges faced by envelope manufacturers around the world.

The regional service managers are available to study your equipment and determine whether upgrades are available and appropriate for your machines. They can also assist with training programs and provide a communication link with the factory for you.

They will coordinate their efforts with our Area Sales Managers and with the other team members in our customer centre. This will help you with the advice and practical support you may require with regard to new machines as well as spare parts.

We are sure you will find the regional service managers to be very helpful. The addition of these individuals is another sign of our commitment to the envelope industry. We hope you will take advantage of all they have to offer.

P.I.V. Gear Box Replacement with New Servo Drive Technology

Problems with web tension or gear box failure? Convert to the new W+D servo drive technology. Because many P.I.V. gear boxes are no longer available we recommend replacing  the mechanical gear with a servo drive. Servos offers many advantages including:
