ReBuild's 1st Annual Volunteer Appreciation Day is Saturday, October 1st from 12 noon to 3pm at the Warehouse. It's a great opportunity for volunteers to meet one another as well as ReBuild's board members and workshop presenters, and for customers to have a chance to drop by and express their thanks.  So after learning about DIY Weatherization at 11am workshop, stick around for this great event and give our volunteers a much-deserved THANK YOU!

Drinks, burgers and snacks will be available for customers to purchase.

Saturday November 5th -  ReBuild's Fundraising Event of the Year at Potomac Overlook Park.  More details will be forthcoming.

Take a Tour of Potomac Vegetable Farms!

Saturday, September 10th at 2pm

(5th in the Series)

Learn where your food comes from by touring a local farm! Potomac Vegetable Farms is located in Vienna and has been family-run since it started in the early 1960's. It was certified organic from 1991 to 2004, when they decided to be "ecoganic"-an organic farm without the third-party certification due to the expense and hassle. Take a one-hour tour of this great vegetable farm and learn more about the food you eat and how a small farm is thriving in today's urban society! RSVP to TheresaAMeehan@gmail.com. Fee: $10 at the door. Location: Meet at ReBuild Warehouse at 1:15 pm, 6625-B Iron Place Springfield, VA 22151, in order to carpool due to reduced parking at the farm.

Kirsten has been with the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service since 2007, which provides residents of Arlington and Alexandria information on gardening, tree care, insect and disease pests, soil sampling, nutrient management and more! Fall Vegetables and Preparing Your Garden for Winter

(6th in the Series)

Adria Bordas of Fairfax County's Cooperative Extension Service focuses on several diverse program areas which include pest detection and diagnosis of plant and insect problems, water quality and nutrient management, and invasive pest management. Adria is also responsible for the Fairfax County and Green Spring Master Gardener Volunteer programs. Both groups of volunteers help Fairfax County residents answer landscape questions at Plant Clinics, the Master Gardener Horticulture Helpdesk and through educational programs for the public such as the Ecosavvy Symposium. Fee: $10 at the door or preregister. Location: 6625-B Iron Place Springfield, VA 22151. RSVP to TheresaAMeehan@gmail.com
