Tuesday September 29th was a great day for the ReBuild warehouse. We hosted a first-ever event that brought together all eight chapters of Green Drinks in the DC Metro area to help celebrate the work of six local environmentally-concious artists.  With nearly 100 people from a wide variety of backgrounds gathered in the warehouse in attendance, the evening was a smashing success!  The warehouse welcomed many first time guests - a number of whom also decided to join their local Green Drinks chapter - while three of our artists had their work purchased on the spot. 
 
It was a night of positive energy, passionate spirits and delicious food.  We would like to thank all of our sponsors and our volunteers for their generosity and support and for helping to pull off such a wonderful event.

On Saturday October 10th & Sunday October 11th ReBuild was part of the annual Washington DC Green Festival.  The Green Festival is a joint project of Global Exchange and Green America.  It is created to celebrate what is working in our communities and for people, business and the environment.  There were 125 renowned authors, leaders and educators, 350 eco-friendly businesses, workshops, green films, kids' activities, live music, delicious organic, vegetarian cuisine and much more.  (www.greenfestivals.org) While many of our staff members had attended the three previous years' festival, this was the first year that the ReBuild warehouse was represented.  ReBuild made many beneficial contacts and gathered new interest in the warehouse.  We are already looking forward to next year.  

 

Curious about going Green but not sure where to shop locally?  A common question tends to be "How can I really trust this business is Green?"   To help you answer this question. ReBuild now sells Live Green Memberships.  Live (rhymes with give) Green is a membership organization that makes green living and business practices easier and more affordable in the DC metropolitan area. Green Living Inside and Out

International Day of Climate Change
October 24, 12pm-5pm at Malcom X/ Meridian Hill Park, 16th and Euclid Streets NW
Head out and join Live Green at this DC event for the Day of Climate Action. Gather for a rally in Malcom X/Meridian Hill Park including speakers, music, exhibits, displays and cultural performers in the park.  Afterwards the crowd will move to the White House to form a "circle of hope".  On October 24th there will be over 1600 events all over the globe for the Day of Climate Action and we want you to be a part of this historic day!  Learn more about the event or sign up to be a volunteer here.
