Greetings!

If you are new to the Kort Report, I welcome you to my newsletter. If you have already been a subscriber then I thank you for remaining interested in the work I do.

I am excited to share that my website for my clinic, Center for Relationship and Sexual Health has a new look and feel and is much more professional that what we had before.

We are doing the Truth About Love class again for couples to learn about the differences between men and women in relationships.

We are growing and accepting new clients and by this fall many therapists will be taking insurances and Medicare.

My vision as a therapist has always been to provide clients and clinicians a place to learn, heal and grow. We will be offering classes to therapists as you can see below. Many groups for clients are also available.

I also have done some expert videos for individuals in relationships which you can view below.

Also as you can see my books are all back in print both in paperback and kindle. Hooray!

Warmly,

Joe Kort, Ph.D., LMSW

Videos from Dr. Joe Kort

Does your husband act strangely? When you call him out, what does he say? Does he accuse you of hearing things? Does he make you feel like you're losing your mind? If so, you're not alone.
In this video, author, th

erapist and YourTango Expert Dr. Joe Kort explains that this common phenomenon is known as gaslighting, a term that derives from the 1944 film Gaslight starring Ingrid Bergman. The term refers to a form of psychological abuse whereby a perpetrator attempts to make his victim doubt her own memory or perception.

"What you need to do," says Joe, "is to know what you saw and be hard [and] fast in what you know you heard."

You're deeply in love with your husband. But lately, you feel like he doesn't need you as much as he used to. You're beginning to feel insignificant to his life, and you don't know whether this is common or whether this is grounds to make you leave the relationship. How can you assess what is "normal" for you?

In this video, therapist, relationship coach and YourTango Expert Dr. Joe Kort reinforces the differentiation between men and women. In general, men prefer to have more separateness and distance in a relationship while usually, women crave more togetherness and intimacy. The key to solving this issue is to talk with your spouse about whether his distancing is a positive or negative change to your relationship.

Dr. Kort asks, "Have you changed that you've noticed your needs have gone up? Or is it that he's changed and you've noticed he needs you less? That's not necessarily a negative indicator." How Do You Know If Your Relationship Is In Trouble? [VIDEO]
