If you are new to the Kort Report, I welcome you to my newsletter. If you have already been a subscriber then I thank you for remaining interested in the work I do.
Welcome to my favorite time of year, Fall!
This month is filled with gay holidays. October 11, 2011 is National Coming Out Day and even Hallmark has made a card for that occassion.
And then there is Halloween!! The gay high holy day! Not really, but I like to call it that because if you go to gay bars over the Halloween weekend you will see some of the best costumes arounds.
The Center for Relationship and Sexual Health is up and running and we are taking new referrals. I am happy to say things are going well.
We could not be doing this as efficiently if it were not for our office manager Karin Jones-Vigliarolo. I am so happy to have her working for us. Take a look at her new photo and bio at the CRSH website http://crsh.com/joe-kort-associates
Take a look at the offerings below of the free workshops we are doing as well as the new couples workshop I am doing of the IMAGO Relationship Therapy which I have been doing since 1995.

My partner and I have been on our parenting journey for over ten years now and one of the things I know to be true of gay and lesbian parents is that our families are able to thrive despite the various social obstacles if we are willing to; advocate for ourselves and our children, remain positive and proactive in all facets of structuring and maintaining our families, and most of all continue growing together as the couple whose love has brought us to this point.
I invite you to join me for a casual yet informative discussion and an opportunity to meet and socialize with other prospective lesbian moms and gay dads.

Deborah Mueller, MA, LLPC shares how the hustle and bustle of the holiday season can create stress, some of which is positive, such as excitement and anticipation. But many people also deal with negative stress, trying to do too much, spending too much, or be in too many places at once. Mueller provides ways to minimize and manage the stresses that accompany this time of year.
