| PRIs in the News
California HealthCare Foundation Launching New PRI Program The Foundation's Innovations for the Underserved program is preparing for an early October launch of its new PRI program. The Foundation will make early-stage PRIs of up to $250,000 in medical and health care devices, technologies and services, and will consider additional funding of up to $3 million over the life of a project. Investments of five to seven years will support organizations and companies through a range of financial instruments, including recoverable grants, loans and equity investments. Having previously funded PRIs via an intermediary, the Foundation decided to launch its own program not only to recycle capital but to increase its impact. According to program director Margaret Laws, "The traditional grant model was insufficient to fully achieve our goal of encouraging sustainable innovation. This program complements our program goals and previous work, and expands our potential network of partners." |
You can learn more about PRIs at the following events:
September 29 - October 1, Blaine, Washington
October 11 - 13, Austin, Texas
October 13 - 15, Astoria, Oregon
