| Greetings!
Every action has a reaction. Directing capital to the right social or environmental enterprise through a PRI can trigger a huge one. So can connecting people and information. You can use the PRI Makers Network website and listserv to find new deals, attract co-investors, answer questions, or find the tools that will expedite your work. And by reporting on new or completed deals, sharing new forms and templates that you've created, and forwarding your questions and comments, you will help us achieve the reactions we need and seek.

Resources for PRI Makers
The Community Development Investment Review offers a wealth of timely, relevant research and analysis on investing in low and moderate income communities. Its most recent edition featured articles, "Impact Investing: Harnessing Capital Markets to Solve Problems at Scale" by Bugg-Levine and Goldstein, and one by Hagerman and Racliffe on the importance of measuring social and environmental outcomes to attract greater investment. Free subscriptions and additional copies are available on the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco website.
Comprehensive underwriting has never been more important for PRI makers. Fortunately, foundations looking for efficient ways to strengthen their underwriting capacity can turn to the CARS™ CDFI Assessment and Rating System providing third-party analyses of community development financial institutions. CARS™ has rated 48 CDFIs on their financial strength and impact performance and can be used to identify investment opportunities that meet their social investment criteria and risk parameters, and augment their own underwriting. Recent reports include: Florida Community Loan Fund, Mountain Association of Community Economic Development, Baltimore Community Lending, and The Reinvestment Fund. For more information go to: CARS™.
