CALC Community Events Calendar
Greetings!

The posting of events does not imply an endorsement of the sponsoring groups or their political views.  We post events sponsored by other groups when we think the topics will be of interest to CALC's members and friends.  Often we have a close working relationship with those groups, but not always.  Only CALC-sponsored or co-sponsored events carry our specific endorsement.

Free Food and Music - Please donate

Our first big event of the Summer is coming up Saturday, July 21st in the Washington-Jefferson Park. University Fellowship is hosting another fun day with a free bar-b-que and music by The Lost and Found Band from noon until 3 PM . There will also be a clothes give away, hair cuts, children's craft projects, and Aloma is bringing her Free Photo Project.

These events are part of an on-going effort to offer hope and love to homeless folks and others in the neighborhood of the park.
We could use donations of cookies- homemade are nice but any cookies would be appreciated. Also we can use any clean used clothing that you would like to give away.

Thanks for the continued support of Free People.

Let's Talk: Gifting and Alternative Currency
The Atrium Building lobby, 99 W 10th Ave, Eugene
Saturday, July 21, 2:00pm to 5:00pm

The Let's Talk series continues, with a discussion on alternatives to a money-based economy. Representatives from Emerald Valley Time Exchange, Kindista.org, and Eugene gift circles will share their perspectives on gifting and alternative currencies, followed by participatory small-group dialogue. Non-cash economies represent a unique alternative to conventional systems of currency and exchange. We invite your full participation as we examine the strengths and weaknesses of these new alternatives to the cash-based economy.
This event is open to the public, and offered on a gift economy basis. No admission will be charged, although participants are encouraged to donate an amount commensurate with the quality of their experience and their own ability to pay. Your gifts allow us to continue offering public dialogues on topics that matter.

More information can be found at www.LetsTalkEugene.org. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

The July Resilient Communities Fair and Potluck
Center for Spiritual Living, 390 Vernal St, Eugene
Saturday, July 28, 9:00am to 4:30pm
What does a resilient community look like?

There's a small but growing community of resiliency in Eugene -- activists, environmentalists, eco-villagers, and idealists, who want the world to be a better place. Continuing a trend of daylong gatherings on regional resiliency, the Let's Talk series presents the July Resilient Community Fair, a day of creativity, self-empowerment, and common struggle. Bring your passion, your responsibility, and a dish to share at the potluck lunch.
An Open Space hosting format will be used for the day's events. More information can be found atwww.LetsTalkEugene.org
