Eugene Peace Choir hosts John Gainer, former UO professor & founder of Inspirational Sounds Gospel Chorus, to lead second annual community workshop on songs of the American Civil Rights Movement. The entire community is invited. The Workshop runs Friday 7-9:30, and Saturday,10-12 pm, followed by a potluck. Participants will provide music for the City of Eugene's Martin Luther King celebration, 1/18, at Silva Hall, in the Hult Center.

 

Suggested $10 workshop donation.

NAACP Eugene/Springfield Chapter Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Celebration

9:30 am: Univ. of Oregon Moshofsky Center.


The NAACP begins its celebration with the MLK March which begins 9:30 am at the Moshofsky Center and ends at the Hult Center where the keynote program is held.  This programs highlights and celebrates Dr. King's legacy. 

 

The Moshofsky Center is located on the Southwest side of Autzen Stadium, not far from the bike path.

12th annual Springfield MLK Jr. Contest & Celebration

"Service to Humanity"

Springfield Middle School, 1084 G Street,

2:00 - 4:00 pm

 

We honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a leader who was committed to justice and non-violence. To help honor his life and work, you are invited to attend Springfield's 12th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration.

This celebration is coordinated by the combined efforts of Springfield Alliance for Equality and Respect (SAfER), a program of CALC, Springfield Family Resource Center, Springfield Public Schools, the City of Springfield, and Willamalane Park and Recreation District.


Art work, essays, poetry and speeches will be beautifully displayed and awards are to be presented.
