Afghanistan Peace Rally & Vigil Wednesday, Dec. 2nd
In response to President Obama's upcoming policy announcement on Afghanistan where he'll probably call for an increase in U.S. troop levels, CALC is sponsoring a noon press conference and rally Wednesday, calling for peace and not more war in Afghanistan.
The event will be held at Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza, 8th and Oak. Please join us.
At the event, students, clergy and representatives from labor and the business community will talk about how Lane County tax dollars can be better-spent creating jobs at home rather than paying for endless war in Afghanistan.
The rally will be followed by the weekly 4 p.m. peace vigil at the Old Federal Bldg, 7th and Pearl.
