The message below from our friends at Equity Foundation arrived just as I was about to send you a reminder that this Saturday, August 8, 2009 is Eugene/Springfield's annual PRIDE Festival at Alton Baker Park from noon to 7 PM.
Read below and find out how you can enter for a chance to win a $500 grant for your favorite nonprofit organization.
Please come to PRIDE -- it's for EVERYONE! -- we'd love to see you at CALC's booth.
All LGBTIQ youth and their allies are invited to participate in this year's FAAAAAAbulous
Queer Youth Art Project. We have plain ceramic bisque bowls and an array of spectacular colors to glaze them with.
Decorate a bowl that will become part of a CALC display to increase awareness about our LGBTIQ youth who are homeless or at risk for homelessness and, sadly, go hungry too often. (Hence the "empty bowls.")
This year's PRIDE theme is: Your Rights, Our Rights, Human Rights.
We especially need to support the rights to food and shelter for the LGBTIQ youth in our community, so please join us, paint a bowl, and help spread the word.
See you at PRIDE this Saturday -- rain or shine.
