CALC
Good Cheer, Art, Music, Food and More at CALC's Open House
6/26/09, 5-7 PM, 458 Blair Blvd.

Get to know us, our neighbors, and our supporters at our annual Open House with art, music, food, friends and fun tomorrow from 5 to 7pm at CALC, 458 Blair Blvd.

Last year our Open House was a smashing success featuring art from the Street Youth Art Project. This year, we hope to see even more familiar and new faces as we showcase CALC's latest photo exhibit, "Shared Community/Mixed Identities." This exhibit, the third exhibit produced by our Back-to-Back program, has portraits and mini-biographies of Lane County residents whose heritage is racially or ethnically mixed. It's part of CALC's ongoing effort to encourage acceptance and validation of diverse identities and contribute to building a community in which everyone feels safe, valued and respected.

We'll also have great live music with the Latin Jazz group Sahmi and refreshments provided by Emerald Valley Kitchen and the Red Barn Natural Grocery.  The event is part of the Last Friday ArtWalk, a coming together of Whiteaker neighborhood artists, galleries, organizations, and businesses, to showcase neighborhood creativity and liveability. We'll hope you'll also visit lots of our neighbors. So come out on a summer night for a good time and support CALC and our community. The event is free (but we love donations).
See you there,
