·          Training is too intensive especially in zone 2/3.
·          Inadequate muscle glycogen regeneration due to too intensive training
·          Underestimation of work stress and effect on riding
·          Periodisation is not used creating the same fitness level all year round
·          Not resting enough and not getting full super-compensation
·          Too higher increases in training load in the year leading to performance stagnation and overtraining.
·          No reduction in training during an infection which then leads to a drop in performance
·          Strength and strength endurance are completely neglected in training
·          Poor cycling handling skills leading to poor performance and crashes during races
·          Eating habits not matching the level of exertion
