A winter scene along McDill Pond

If you are looking to get in a holiday mood, plan a trip to the Village of Amherst, a small community just east of Stevens Point, during their Annual Village Christmas. The event, December 5 & 6 hosts a Outdoor Christmas Decoration Contest for homes and businesses, tours of the historic Amherst Inn Bed & Breakfast, retail and restaurant specials. Also going on during the Village Christmas is the Tomorrow River Christmas Craft Show, known for it's specialty handmade items.

Thursdays in December, through the 17th, Downtown Stevens Point hosts Home For the Holiday's, an event full of yuletide spirit. Retail stores, like Robin's Nest Gifts, The Companion Shop, Dala's Import Oasis, Gepetto's Workshop, Divepoint Scuba, Kindred Spirts, SugarCubed, Art Village, and Paper Doll, are just a few with extended hours for the event. If you need to get your list to Santa, visit the Enchanted Forest, complete with more than 30 holiday displays, in the Centerpoint Marketplace. Santa will be available Thursday and Friday evenings, and Saturday afternoons, through December 19th. The winter sun peaks through on a snow-covered trail
