New York State Waiver of Non-Contributory Health Insurance
 

The State of New York Insurance Department Office of General Counsel (OGC) has issued definitive guidance on whether employees may waive employer-sponsored health insurance that is fully paid for by the employer.

 

In the Office of General Counsel Opinion Number 10-12-15, released on December 31, 2010, New York officials have stated that employees must accept employer sponsored health insurance that is fully paid for by the employer and may not waive that coverage.  Click here for more information.
