Dear AXICOM Clients, Colleagues and Friends,

We wanted to let you know that our first online workshop, an Excel Refresher course, went very well and we had a nice number of attendees!  Our next online workshop, Fun Effects with PowerPoint will be on Tuesday, June 15.  Join us and learn how to spice up your PowerPoint presentations.  We're also hosting a webinar on June 8 called Websites and Beyond:  Your Digital Presence.  Registration links are on the right sidebar.

AXICOM continues to encourage proper recycling of your PCs and electronics.  Feel free to drop them off at our office and we will make sure they are disposed of at a e-waste recycling facility.  We can also scrub your hard drive and certify that for you.  Or, make sure to destroy your hard drive or reformat it yourself.

We have a Technology Basket Giveaway!  The basket includes a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition, a Western Digital 1 Terabyte SATA hard drive, an SEO Optimization Website Audit by Jonathan Myron of Dragonwell Media, a 4 port USB hub, a Windows 7 T-shirt and an AXICOM keyboard brush.  Retail value is $725!  Register by June 15 on the AXICOM website

We're looking for a few more good clients ('cuz those are the ones we like and that's who are current clients are!) and perhaps this giveaway will entice a few new  people to get to know us.  Anything you can do to help is appreciated so tell your friends and colleagues!

Small Business Institute at
California State University, Channel Islands

Sometimes we come across programs that are of interest to small businesses.  The Small Business Institute at CSUCI is just such a program that we wanted to share with our clients.

Students at the CSUCI Martin V. Smith School of Business have the opportunity to provide businesses with a review, assessment and recommendations on how to improve their businesses through a program at the Small Business Institute (SBI).

The SBI website lists the following five purposes of the SBI:

  • The SBI Program bridges the gap between the subject competency provided by the colleges and universities and the entry-level training firms critically need.
  • Through our SBI Small Business Institute program our students participate in hands-on learning experience by conducting field case studies and providing consulting services to local small business owners.
  • Teams of qualified senior-level and graduate CSUCI students, under the expert faculty and SBI Director supervision, provide the consulting to small business owners and managers as part of their educational training here at CSUCI.
  • The SBI program is a catalyst in helping small businesses expand and diversify. The program assists businesses in the planning and marketing efforts needed not only to survive, expand, and diversify, but also to obtain additional funding for their business operations.
  • The emphasis of the program is on practical, realistic, and affordable solutions to problems confronting individual small businesses.
So, if you're interested in any of these services and also want to give upcoming business students a chance to hone their skills while also gaining some advice on your business, contact information is listed below:
