Happy Earth Day! If you have any recyclable electronics, there will be an e-waste recycling event on Sunday, April 18 at 1049 S. Westlake Blvd (United Methodist Church) between 12 and 3 pm. Feel free to drop off old PCs, monitors, TVs, stereos, and more (but no batteries or light bulbs). If it's more convenient for you, drop off your electronics at AXICOM and we will drop them off on Sunday for you.

Microsoft Office 2010
| Microsoft Office 2010 will launch this summer and we wanted to give you a Sneak Peek about some of the features to expect. Keep your eyes open for upcoming Office 2010 webinars and seminars in the next few months!
Email and Calendars- Will now include View, Clean Up and Ignore features which will remove duplicate information and act like "mute buttons" for the information overload that arrives in our Inboxes.
One Note- One Note is a place to capture text, images, video and audio notes in an easily accessible place. Underutilized for years, it will now be included in ALL versions of Microsoft Office 2010.
Excel- Will now have Sparklines and Slicer tools to help create visual diagrams from information.
Power Point- Will now have a Broadcast Slide Show option which will enable users to collaborate on the fly and immediately share their Power Point presentation via a web link.

Windows 7 - Desktop Gadgets
|
Windows 7 enables users to add desktop gadgets to their desktop. To add Desktop Gadgets, go to the Control Panel and click on Desktop Gadgets. A selection of gadgets will appear which you can easily add to your desktop. But, I suggest that you go to the link that says "Get More Gadgets Online" and have fun browsing through them. There are numerous gadgets available (199 pages at my last count!). The predominant themes seem to be clocks, weather, traffic and games. But, there are plenty of fun and just plain goofy gadgets as well! Along with the weater, date and time, I have added a Virtual Flowerpot and a Google searchbar to my desktop, for example. But, maybe you like pandas or the stock market quotes. Seek and you shall find! |

Try animating your artwork in Power Point. If you use SmartArt (graphics for processes, lists, etc.), you can animate them by choosing the Animation tab and then choosing all at once or one at a time. Pretty nifty!
