Dear AXICOM Clients, Colleagues and Friends,

Since the New Year began, we've been thinking about what "theme" to have for this year.  Granted, we don't really need a theme per se, but why not--it's good to have goals, right?  (And it's expected at the beginning of the year.)

So, drumroll please, here's what the theme is for AXICOM this year.  We're going to have FUN!  Let's face it--2009 was sort of lousy for the entire country.  But, that doesn't mean we can't have fun in 2010 no matter what the economy does or doesn't do.  So, we will focus on fun this year.  We'll start by having a little client referral program featuring freshly baked cookies as a reward.  Everyone loves cookies, right? (And we're not talking about the ones on your computer!)

We'd also like to highlight some of the fun things that our clients do for their business or in their free time (I know--what free time??)  For example, do you write a blog, play in a band, go skydiving?  We want to know and we'll highlight you in our future newsletters.  And, if you don't give us this information, we will ferret it out--never fear.  So, 'fess up and send an email with all this interesting info so that we can include it in upcoming newsletters.

Join us for what's sure to be an informative webinar on February 23 on Windows 7 features.  If you're considering upgrading your current system or buying a new desktop or laptop, or if you recently bought a new system and want to make sure you take advantage of all the new features, this is for you.  Sign up now!

So, go have some fun--wherever you are!

Would you like some freshly baked cookies?

CookiesSend us the name, phone number and email address of someone whom you think might benefit from AXICOM's services and we will deliver to you some freshly baked cookies.   AXICOM's clients are mostly businesses and/or business owners who are looking to reduce their IT costs and want proactive, reliable and responsive technical service.   If you know someone searching for an IT company that can save them money and time, then you can send contact names and information to Christa Nonnemaker. Make sure you get their permission first!   Expect to get a medley of chocolate chip cookies, bars, and more!

We promise we won't be obnoxious or stalk this person or company whose name you give us in trust.  We will add their name to our email list to receive occasional newsletters (like this) and invitations to our seminars and possibly a phone call just to let them know that we're here and that we offer computer service and support to small businesses in the area.  If that's OK with you, then we'd be happy to get those cookies to you. (If you're a good friend or colleague, you will share the cookies with that person!)

Send in names by February 28, 2010 to receive your cookies!

Employee Profile:

Richard Marder,
Technical Services Manager

Richard Marder

Throughout the year we will highlight our employees in our newsletters.  Sometimes it's good to put a face to the voice you talk to over the phone.  First up is Richard Marder, Technical Services Manager at AXICOM.

Richard Marder joined the AXICOM team in October of 2008.  As the owner of his own computer consulting company prior to joining AXICOM, Richard knows and understands the nature of small business.  Richard brings years of experience as well as numerous computer engineering certifications from Microsoft and Cisco.

As the Technical Services Manager, Richard oversees all the technical staff in the office and makes sure that issues are resolved quickly and expeditiously.  He also is in charge of placing hardware and software orders for clients.

Richard is "Mr. Cool" in our office.  I don't think any of us have every seen him agitated or frustrated!  Richard plays in a local baseball league and is an avid Dodger fan.  We know where he'll be on Opening Day of Dodger Baseball!

Tips from the
"Working Simply in a 24x7 World" Seminar

Acer 17in Monitor

Thanks to all who attended!  Based on the number of people who came, we can only assume that the topic resonated with many.  For those who couldn't make the seminar, here are a few tips:

1.  After you read an email and you don't need to take action, delete it.
2.  If you have to click more than 3 times to open a file, it's too many.
3.  In races, if you're driving the car, you need a good pit crew to keep the car going.  The same concept can be applied to computers.  Let AxiGuard be your pit crew.
4.  Consider moving your applications to the cloud for easy access, affordability and collaboration purposes.  Google Docs is just one way to start with cloud computing.

AXICOM has been in business since 1996 providing technical support to small and medium businesses as well as non-profits and schools in the Ventura and Los Angeles County areas.  Visit our website today for important information, event listings, video testimonials, articles, free resources and more.

Sincerely,
