Greetings! ,
June 2nd, the Poncan Opry featuring the Poncan Opry Band and special guest, Zach Coffey.
This month's performance features guest singer Zac Coffey. Zach grew up in Yukon, Oklahoma listening to country music and dreaming of performing it. He began singing country music on the Oklahoma Rodeo Opry Stage at the age of 15. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University on a track scholarship and immediately found his way into the music department. There, he performed often, leading worship throughout the state and singing classical/opera music. He starred as lead tenor, "Martin", in OBU's production of, "The Tender Land", was a finalist in the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) competition, and led events like the Baptist Collegiate Ministry Convention and Falls Creek camps. Zach now lives with his wife, Reji, in Dallas, Texas and is still pursuing country music. Zach's classical training blends with his heart for country music for a unique "Nashville" sound. He plays many country songs you know and love as well as several originals.
So if you've not been to a show, purchase tickets online ($16) and enjoy the traditional Classic Country music, along with Today's Country, Classic Rock 'n Roll, Rhythm 'n Blues, Bluegrass and Gospel.
The Poncan Opry Band consists of Bucky Fowler on lead guitar and vocals. Rob Loren on fiddle; Steve Gordaneer, steel guitar; James Hocutt, bass guitar; Mike Price, keyboard; Chuck Case, drums; and vocalists Karla Fowler and the Fowler Sisters: Kristine Saner, Kelcy Mohr and Kandace Sovereign. Thanks again to the sponsors Team Radio (Country KPNC 100.7 FM), Heartland Western Outfitters and Head Country BBQ .

June 13th (Wednesday) The Glenn Miller Orchestra on stage at the Poncan!
In the Mood, Chattanooga Choo Choo, I've Got a Gal in Kalamazoo, and Pennsylvania 6-5000 are just some of the many great big band tunes that will be belted out by The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra as it stops by the Poncan Theatre on Wednesday, June 13, on its five city 2012 Oklahoma Tour. It is the most sought after big band in the world today for both concert and dance engagements. Still considered the greatest band of all time, its unique sound is loved by almost anybody that cares for dance music.
Also, a newly commissioned "Oklahoma Medley", which includes Oklahoma songs (with a little Bedlam!) arranged in the classic Glenn Miller style, will be performed during the show.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra is a fully self-contained group consisting of the musical director, five saxophone players, four trumpeters, four trombonists, and three rhythm musicians (piano, bass and drums). Also, there are two vocalists, one male and one female, who perform individually and as part of The Moonlight Serenaders vocal group.
The band travels over 100,000 miles each year, playing nearly 300 dates, with more than 500,000 people in attendance. So don't miss out on this opportunity to enjoy this famous group, purchase your tickets early! Tickets start at $20.
