2010 Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to Bob Evans, MCUW's 2010 Volunteer of the Year!

 

Bob had no idea that retiring from ExxonMobil would open new avenues for volunteering. He serves as a MCUW Board Member, is the 2010 - 2011 Secretary/Treasurer, Chaired the Health Care Study Steering Committee who has faciliated a county wide Health Care Study, served on MCUW's Strategic Investment committee, Community Well Being Impact Council, Finance Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and Chaired the Audit Committee and currently chairs the Finance Committee.

 

Thanks Bob for all that you do for Montgomery County!

The Woodlands Bar Association is taking calls for legal questions on April 4 from 5 - 8:00 p.m.  Call 281-645-6344

 

Free Tax Preparation

 

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) is offering tax prepartion for low income families to get help with applying for the Earned Income Tax Credit.  Dates are March 25 and April 15 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the MCUW Conroe Family Service Center, 731 W. Davis.  Families can boost their income up to 35%,

Centerpoint Energy - Conroe Gas Operations has given over $7,300 to Montgomery County United Way.  Employees gave $2,127 and a corporate gift of $5,250 was invested to help fund over 50 programs that improve the lives of Montgomery County citizens.

 

To help us reach our $3.9 million goal - Please Give.

Advocate.

MCUW invites you to advocate for local non-profit organizations and local schools.  With an estimated projected $31 billion budget cut, our state representatives need to hear from you.

 

United Ways of Texas' Senior Vice President of Public Policy Jason Sabo recently spoke to a group of concerned citizens at MCUW's Conroe facility.

The Panther Creek Post Office received a face lift from Eagle Scout Candidate Hunter West-Freeman and his Boy Scout Troop #1772.
