August 12 Webinar - Cyanide Safety

The AESF Foundation webinar on Safety Topics will take place on Thursday, August 12 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM EDT. This session will cover chemical safety issues related to Electroplating and Surface Finishing.

While non-cyanide alternatives to many plating solutions exist, and in some cases are popular, this toxic ion is still present in many plating facilities conducting brass, bronze, silver, copper and cadmium plating. We will provide a 30-40 minute presentation on basic cyanide safety issues and then allow the audience to ask questions.

2010 Supplier Briefing - Sign up today!

This new NASF briefing will feature an information-packed session on the impacts of new chemical and metal developments for suppliers to the finishing industry. Experts from EPA, the legal community, The Policy Group and other organizations will analyze the potentially dramatic ramifications of several emerging issues including:
  • New federal TSCA legislation now moving through Congress - will U.S. policy "out-reach" the European Union?
  • Proposals for tighter restrictions on mist suppressants and NASF's push for alternatives to PFOS and related compounds under the "Sustainable Technology Initiative"
  • NASF's "Surface Technology Roadmap" for the aerospace/defense and automotive sectors
  • Nickel hazard classification issues and the finishing supply chain
NASF's Christian Richter will kick off the event, review the industry's agenda and key actions, and moderate the discussion.
