New Financial Aid Program
Making Education Available to All
The AESF Foundation continues to expand its resources by offering a Financial Aid Program. In 2010 the Foundation is offering ten $500 financial aid packages to NASF Individual and Corporate members. The packages are available to members registering for the four-day Electroplating and Surface Finishing course in either Grand Rapids, MI, June 14-17 or in California, November 1-4.

Troubleshooting Test Panels (Corrosion and Salt Spray Testing Issues)
To participate, you only need a phone and internet access.
These one-hour web-based training sessions will feature AESF Foundation Technical Education Director, Frank Altmayer, and other industry experts. Participants call into the training session and access the internet to follow along with the presentation. Questions will be collected prior to the sessions as well as during the presentation. These forums are an open opportunity to get your questions answered and learn from others. |

2010 Bright Design Challenge -"Loud Pipes & Chrome!"
Loud Pipes and Chrome is underway! The students at the College for Creative Studies are putting their creative powers to work in designing a 2014 Harley-Davidson Concept Bike. The judging will take place on April 20 in Detroit - we'll keep you posted on the winners of this exciting program!

Cleveland Black Oxide Nets New Business...Literally!
Cleveland Black Oxide has seen some pretty odd applications for their black oxide finishes over the years: Slinky™ toys, bullet casings, printed circuits and large architectural panels to name a few. And recently, they've added chain mail and animal containment netting to the list. Metal chain and netting (usually stainless steel) is used in many applications from protective, decorative and historical reinactment clothing to steel curtains, animal containment and zoo aviaries.
