New Financial Aid Program
Making Education Available to All
The AESF Foundation continues to expand its resources by offering a Financial Aid Program. In 2010 the Foundation is offering ten $500 financial aid packages to NASF Individual and Corporate members. The packages are available to members registering for the four-day Electroplating and Surface Finishing course in either Grand Rapids, MI June 14-17 or in California, November 1-4.

A qualified AESF Foundation instructor will develop and teach a curriculum according to your company's needs. Each module takes between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours to complete. After finishing the course, each participant will receive a certificate of completion.

Troubleshooting Test Panels (Corrosion and Salt Spray Testing Issues)
To participate, you only need a phone and internet access.
These one-hour web-based training sessions will feature AESF Foundation Technical Education Director, Frank Altmayer, and other industry experts. Participants call into the training session and access the internet to follow along with the presentation. Questions will be collected prior to the sessions as well as during the presentation. Palmetto Branch Hears Regulatory Update & Tours the FN Manufacturing Plant
Metal finishers from the Palmetto Branch of NASF/AESF heard a presentation by South Carolina DHEC officials Kari Terry and Bill Williamson, at its March monthly meeting at River Falls Plantation Golf Club. The emphasis was on air regulations and MACT standards, in particular, the new final area source rules for plating and polishing under NESHAP Subpart WWWWWW. Other important areas discussed were working.
Forty members and guests of the Palmetto Branch of NASF/AESF were given a plant tour of FN Manufacturing, Columbia, SC. FN displayed the M-16 rifle, M-249 light machine gun and other weapons. Also featured was a new metal finishing plating line with covered tanks. The line includes chrome plating, phosphating, and other processes. One guest picked up a 9mm pistol that he purchased after the tour. A well-attended social gathering after the tour was held at Red Robin.
