Rick Delawder Honored with Bertram A. Stone Award
by CMFI
During the January 25, 2010 CMFI meeting, NASF Board member and past CMFI President (2006) Rick Delawder was honored with the Stone Award. Established in 1994, the Stone Award is the summit award of the CMFI and is bestowed on an individual who has performed outstanding service to the finishing industry locally and/or nationally. Mrs. Idelle Stone was present to personally present the award to Rick. Rick currently serves on the NASF Executive Committee, has been involved on the local CMFI Board since 2001, and is also a member of the AESF/Chicago Branch. With the support of his family, Rick has spent countless hours working on numerous local and national projects. The many individual letters supporting his nomination for the award; his gentle yet persuasive demeanor in dealing with the various Boards he sits on; his professionalism; his determination to move the industry forward in a positive direction; and all attest to his passion for industry. His co-national representative, Becky Bennett, commented that "Rick's thoughts are of a savvy business man, and that is how he approaches the issues at the national level." New Products and Services at SUR/FIN 2010
COVENTYA, Inc., a specialty chemical company that manufactures and markets processes for the Metal Finishing and Water Treatment Industries, has introduced its newest addition to their line of Trivalent Chromium Plating Technologies- the TRISTAR 310 Process. The TRISTAR 310 Process is a "chloride based" trivalent chrome plating technology designed to pass 22-66 hours CASS. The deposit closely matches the color from Hexavalent Chrome processes, making it ideal as an alternative or direct replacement. A noteworthy feature of the process is its ability to deposit up to 10-12 millionths. A second benefit is that purification treatment methods have been developed for the TRISTAR 310 Process, which provide for rapid removal of copper, zinc, iron, and nickel, the metallic impurities that most seriously affect deposit color and low current density covering power. Consequently, maintaining a uniform appearance and thickness that corresponds to deposits provided by hexavalent chrome processes is relatively easy and economical. For more information please contact COVENTYA, Inc. at (216) 351-1500 or d.lay@coventya.com. |
