Greetings!
Although the calendar says Spring is around the corner, Central Oregon weather is still very unpredictable. Last month we shared a couple of ways to beat the chill. This month we'll share a way to prevent damage to your home from freezing temperatures, as well as local gardening tips. We're also showcasing a home we recently completed in Bend and pictures of a Log House we renovated.

Frozen Downspouts or Spring Gardening?
The official first day of spring is only weeks away. While we can't expect spring to go out like a lamb in the Midwest and East, the Farmer's Almanac for the Pacific Northwest calls for mild weather for spring 2010.
So, if we happen to get a cold, wet snap, and you need to know how to thaw or prevent frozen downspouts and ice dams, you can link to this article on eHow.com.

However, if you are confident enough to start your spring garden anytime soon, a good source for gardening in Central Oregon is from our own Oregon State University Extension program for Master Gardners at Central Oregon Community College. You can find news, articles, calendars, tips and more for local gardening from this link.
