November, 2009 Happy Thanksgiving
Greetings!

As winter and the holidays quickly approach, our family fun will change from boating on the Cascade Lakes to snow boarding and warm fires. What doesn't change is our thankfulness for our treasured family, friends, and business associates.
Winter Construction
by Steve Hansmann
 Steve Headshot
Most of us don't think of starting construction in the cold, wet, winter months.  However, construction methods and materials have come a long way since the days of waiting for spring.  We can start your new home or remodel during any season!
The biggest concern is achieving the required strength of concrete, which is achieved by a chemical process called hydration.  This process occurs when cement is mixed with water and works best when the water is warm.  However, the hydration process can be enhanced in cold weather with the use of chemical accelerators.  This article will provide you with more details on concrete construction in winter months.

If you are interested to learn more about year-round construction, please give Steve a call or email him at steve@hansmannandsons.com.
