Celebrating our 30th year!
Hansmann & Sons Construction is proud to be celebrating our 30th year in business in 2009! As a second-generation builder, Steve Hansmann learned the trade from his father John. We started our company in Santa Cruz, California in 1979. We have done it all in those 30 years, contemporary ocean front homes, traditional and craftsman homes, lodge style and log homes. We have also built a school library, converted a 44,000 sq. ft. office building into a church, and done many office and retail tenant improvements. If you have a need for any residential or commercial construction in 2009, please give us a call for a complimentary consultation.

Insulating Concrete Forms (ICF)
Insulating Concrete Forms are rigid foam forms that hold concrete in place during curing and remain in place afterwards to serve as thermal insulation for concrete walls. There are many reasons for builders and home owners to choose this type of frame construction.
- These forms are lightweight and easy to erect
- Foundation walls built with ICFs provide higher R-values (insulation) and lower air infiltration rates than typical wood frame construction
- They are more resistant to moisture and less attractive to termites and other pests
- Insulating forms protect the concrete from freezing and rapid drying; concrete can be poured when ambient temperature is as low as 10F, requiring only the top of the form to be protected with insulating blankets
Hansmann & Sons Construction can discuss the various construction methods with you to share the advantages and disadvantages of each and help you determine what will best suit your needs.
