2009 Wyeth Equine Ranching Scholarship Overview
 Total Award in 2009 is $20,000.00
  • 4-year degree and graduate degree program
  • 2-year degree program
  • Continuing Education Progam
4-Year Degree Program
  • Eligible:  child, grandchild, spouse, contract holder
  • Award:  up to three $5,000.00 scholarships
  • Academic performance:
    • Acceptance at an accredited school and a minimum grade point of 3.0 on 4.0 scale (required for graduating high school seniours, undergraduates, and graduate students)
    • Acceptance by an accredited school; verification of courses (for adult learners returning to school)
  • Community involvement and service
  • Demonstated excellence through awards and honors
  • Letter of recommendation
 
2-Year Degree Program
  • Eligible:  Child, grandchild, spouse, contract holder
  • Award:  up to two $2,000.00 scholarships
  • Academic performance:
    • Acceptance at an accredited school and a minimum grade point of 3.0 on 4.0 scale (required for graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students
    • Acceptance into an accredited school; verification of courses (for adult learners returning to school)
  • Community involvement and service
  • Demonstrated excellence through awards and honors
  • Letter of recommendation
Continuing Education
  • Eligible:  contract holder in good standing
  • Wyeth Field Staff approval of the program
  • Award:
    • Pay for the cost of the program (up to $500.00)
    • Award up to five annually
  • Criteria:  application and a 250 word explanation of why the rancher/spouse plans to take the course
Selection Process

4-Year and 2-Year Degree Program
  • NAERIC will arrange for an academic expert to select finalists for each program
  • Wyeth Selection Committee will select recipients in a "blinded" process
  • Preference will be given to science or agriculture curriculum at a college or university

Continuing Education Program
  • Wyeth Field Staff will confirm that the applicant is in good standing
  • Wyeth Field Staff will review and verify that the training program has merit
  • Wyeth Selection Committee will select recipients in a "blinded" process
Timing

  • Fax or email applications and supporting documents by 2:00 p.m. EST Thursday, June 18, 2009 AND mail original application and supporting documents, postmarked by June 18, 2009.
  • OR, mail original application and supporting documents, to be received at NAERIC by June 18, 2009.
  • Awards will be announced by July 1, 2009
