March madness or madness any month of the year, is when we continue to do the same things and yet expect different results. In the current economy, there is no place for business as usual.

The latter is is the subject of a special panel discussion that will be presented by the Women of the World organization on Tuesday, March 31st, at the Mid-America Club, Chicago from 8:00 am - 9:30 am. I am one of the three panelists along with Dr. Sandy Goldberg, NBC News and Founder of A Silver Lining Foundation and Mimi Donaldson, International Motivational Speaker and Author.

Success Tip: Discover The Unusual!
One of the most powerful experiences during the three years since I launched my own business has been the opportunity to work with both large corporations and small businesses simultaneously! While the issues are often the same, the approach by each differs greatly.
Donna Gutman states the theme of her Women of the World organization as "Think Globally, Act Locally". Similarly, my success tip today is to "Think Big, Act Small". There is sizeable opportunity to leverage the best of both of these very different business worlds for mutual benefit.
Small businesses benefit greatly by adopting processes born in big business while avoiding the bureaucracy of big business.
Big businesses benefit from adopting entrepreneurial risk-taking and no-boundaries accountability that is the heart of small business success.
There is so much to be shared and learned from each other. "Unusual" is often nothing more than the re-application of "usual" in unusual ways. The opportunity to discover powerful "aha's" can be sparked by just getting small business owners and corporate leaders together in conversation.
