2 Timothy 1:7 "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline."
I thank our Lord for sending his Son, for speaking to me through his Word and for his guidance and comfort from the Holy Spirit. I pray that as leaders at OCS, we know how important it is for us to apply God's Word in every aspect of our lives. Through your Spirit, you have empowered us, as Christians, to avoid the temptation to be timid, but instead, we are to lead and worship with power, love and self-discipline. Lord, keep us focused on your will as we strive to lead this school. I am thankful for our parents who continue to pray for us as we daily seek the direction that God would have us to go.

| Board Announcement |
This month, Roger Gudobba was asked to assume a one-year term on the Oakland Christian School Board. Mr. Gudobba graciously accepted the position vacated by Mr. Scott Samuels. We are grateful to Scott Samuels for his years of service to the Board and we welcome Roger Gudobba and pray for God's blessing and guidance as he assumes his position with the Board.

Your Gift...Their Education...His Plan Your gift to Oakland Christian School will help challenge and motivate each student in pursuing spiritual excellence, academic achievement, social influence, and physical well being. As students grow in knowledge and understanding, they develop integrity and Christian character. The educational goal remains that our students will be able to discern and apply truth, develop a worldview consistent with Biblical absolutes, and be equipped to positively impact the culture for Christ. Each year Oakland Christian School seeks participation in our LifeBuilders Program from friends, family, and alumni of the school. LifeBuilders is the annual drive designed to raise money to continue funding programs not covered by tuition. Please invest in OCS students as we offer opportunities that prepare them to impact society for Christ. Thank you for your continued commitment to Oakland Christian School, and please continue to support OCS with your prayers. Secondary: Order forms may be picked up and turned into the Secondary Office
Elementary: Order forms went home with students and may be turned in to your elementary teacher or the elementary office.

| AH Elementary Morning Kids Club | |
The AH Elementary morning kids club is in need of donations.
Suggested donations include: floor puzzles, beads for necklaces, cookie cutters, bright colored play dough, Lincoln Logs, Matchbox cars and tracks, stencils, etc.
Donations may be dropped off in the elementary office.

Prayer Corner

Please join us in prayer for Oakland Christian!
The parent prayer group meets on Thursdays from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the High School Conference room. If you are interested in participating, please contact Sheila Messing srmessing@yahoo.com.
Additionally, please pray for the following:
- Leadership - Pray for godly discernment and wisdom as a committee searches for a new Superintendent. Pray for a smooth transition for Mr. Gudobba into the his role on the School Board
- Lifebuilders- Pray that those involved with and vested into Oakland Christian would be generous in time, talent and treasure
- Faculty - Pray for a smooth transition for Amanda Kaltz into the half-day kindergarten role. Pray for Myca Verwys' move to Grand Rapids (she will be missed). Pray that all faculty and staff would have the peace of God that surpasses all understanding!
- Athletics - Pray that God would be honored at all athletic events.
As always, pray that Jesus Christ would be the center of all we do! |
