| Greetings! | |

As this school year progresses, I continue to marvel at the quality of our students. Spring Hill was a time of fun, friendship and spiritual challenge. Chapels and Bible classes have stimulated thought and worship. As we approach next week, we will celebrate Homecoming and Spirit Week while we also participate in our Servathon. Pray for a week of blessings as together we join, not only in fun, but also in service to those in need. God has given a great opportunity for OCS to be a light in our community.
Psalm 40: 5 -- Many O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.

Shop with SCRIP and Save
| OCS Families are saving hundreds of dollars on their OCS tuition with Scrip!
What is Scrip? Scrip is a term that means "substitute money". When you purchase a scrip, you're purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to pay for everyday expenses like food, clothing, gasoline, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn a rebate towards a reduction in tuition. Your family earns 75% of the rebate from each order towards your tuition (25% goes toward administrative costs).
Check out these files for more information: OCS Overview of Scrip Getting Started with ShopWithScrip.com |

Clip box tops and start to earn cash for OCS!
It is such an easy way to earn money for the school. There are schools in this area that earned over $5,000 last year through Box Tops, then there are schools across the United States that have earned over $40,000 in a year! OCS can do it too! Clipped Box Tops can be turned in to your child's teacher.

Prayer Corner
| |
Please join us in prayer for Oakland Christian!
The Thursday prayer group will begin meeting Thursday's from 2:00 -3:00 p.m. in the High School Conference room starting September 29th. If you are interested in participating, please contact Karla Everett keverett@oaklandchristian.com.
Additionally, please pray for the following:
- Leadership - Pray for godly discernment and wisdom as a committee searches for a new Superintendent.
- Athletics - Pray for another successful year in the athletic department for OCS. Our concern is more than wins and losses. We are praying that we will first of all have spiritual success this athletic year.
-
Spiritual Life- Pray that the times in chapel, prayer, in bible study, in outreach and even in the everday work of life, that the OCS family would continue to draw closer to Christ and to do everything for His glory!
- DetroitSERVATHON - Pray that the students, parents, faculty and staff have an incredible time serving and giving of their time and talents. Please pray for a beautiful and warm fall day, safe travels and that all that participate will see His hands at work through our efforts and that He will ultimately be glorified.
- Homecoming - That the activities of the week would be enjoyable and that all kids feel included and connected. That the sports events would be glorifying to God and athletes would be safe and have Christ-like sportsmanship. That the dance would be fun and filled with fellowship and pleasing to God!
As always, pray that Jesus Christ would be the center of all we do! |
