Auto Tip of the Month

When stuck in mud or snow, don't make the problem worse by damaging an expensive component. Gently rocking in an attempt to free the car is fine. But if it looks as though you're really stuck, don't keep at it. Throwing your car from forward to reverse repeatedly, as well as spinning tires at high speeds, can generate lots of heat and spell trouble for transmissions, clutches, and differentials. It may be cheaper in the long run to call the tow truck rather than risk big repair bills down the road. It's a good idea to carry a traction aid in the trunk, such as sand, gravel, or cat litter

| This Month's Employee Spotlight |
Scot Butash, Service & Parts Manager.
Scot Butash has been in the automotive industry for 14 years; the past 2 years have been as our Service and Parts Manager at Dick Scott Motor Mall in Fowlerville. He graduated from Donndero High School in Royal Oak and now lives in Brighton with his wife Jennifer their children, Tyler and
Addisyn, and their dog Harley.
One of the things he enjoys most about his job is taking a customer who is in an unfortunate situation with their vehicle and helping them get their vehicle back on the road while turning it into a positive experience. He is fortunate to have a great group of co-workers that make that easy to do!
In his free time Scot enjoys watching sports and spending time with his family. According to Scot, his son's Little League baseball and football games have been a lot of fun this past year! His favorites are; Food: Steak; Movie: Office Space.
He currently drives a 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited but someday dreams of owning a 1967 Dodge Coronet R/T! Scot is this month's Spotlight Employee because of his hard work and dedication to his customers and co-workers. Thanks Scot for all that you do; you are an important member of the Dick Scott "Best Shot" Team!

| Recipe Of The Month |
 | Easy Fried Rice

Ingredients: 2 spray(s) cooking spray
2 large egg(s), lightly beaten
1 cup(s) uncooked carrot(s), shredded
1 cup(s) uncooked scallion(s), sliced, divided
3 cup(s) cooked white rice
1/2 cup(s) frozen green peas, thawed
1/4 cup(s) low-sodium soy sauce, or to taste
Instructions:
Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray; warm pan over medium-high heat. Add eggs; tilt pan so that eggs cover bottom.
When eggs start to set, break them up into pieces with a heat-proof spatula or wooden spoon. Cook until eggs are cooked through, about 1 minute more; remove eggs from skillet and set aside.
Off heat, recoat same skillet with cooking spray; set over medium-high heat. Add carrots and all but 2 tablespoons scallions; sauté until carrots are crisp-tender, about 2 to 3 minutes.
Stir in cooked rice, peas and soy sauce; cook until heated through, stirring once or twice, about 1 minute. Gently stir in cooked egg and remaining scallions; heat through. Yields about 3/4 cups per serving.
