Riding with Sunblock Precautions
When applying sunblock for outdoor events or pre-ride activities, be careful what type of sunblock you use on your face. Some sunblocks can actually vaporize from the heat of having your helmet on. This vapor can cause your eyes to burn, and cloud your vision. To be safe use a sunblock made for sports activities or wipe off all the sunblock you have on your face before you get ready to ride! |

Barb Kurzeja, Dick Scott Nissan Coster
 Barb Kurzeja has been in the automotive industry on and off for 47 years and she has been with Dick Scott for over 6 years. Currently, she works as a Coster at Dick Scott Nissan. Barb attended Robichaud High School and briefly attended Schoolcraft College. Recently, she bought a new condo in Livonia with her husband. Barb is enjoying home ownership and loves deciding what and how to furnish and paint! Barb really enjoys working for the Dick Scott Automotive Group. She has been fortunate to work at our Dodge, Kia and Nissan Dealerships and help with the accounting at our Classic Motorcycle Store too. She loves how "The employees have always been willing to help you with any question and are very friendly." Her favorite part of her job is the accounting portion, like costing deals, figuring commission, balancing accounts and lots of problem solving.
She spends her free time going to baseball games in Detroit, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Barb also likes going antiquing, listening to music, dancing, spending time with her grandchildren and visiting her children that live in Indiana and Wisconsin. Her favorite type of music is 50's and 60's. She is very proud of her mom who raised her and her three siblings when her dad passed away in 1958. Her mom will be 90 Years Young this year on Mother's Day, May 9th. Her favorite author is Steven King, her favorite movie is The King and I, and her favorite food is steak! She loves making people laugh and trying to be organized.
Barb currently drives a Lincoln MKZ, which her husband bought for her for their 25th Wedding Anniversary this past August. Her dream vehicle is a Nissan Quest.
Barb is this month's Spotlight Employee because of her positive attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn new things and help out wherever needed. Thanks Barb for all that you do, you are an important member of the Dick Scott "Best Shot" Team! |

Recipe Of The Month
|
Beer Marinated Pork Chops
From the Kitchen of Katherine W., Livonia, MI
Ingredients:
1 cup beer
1 cup water
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
4 bone-in pork chops (1-1/2 lb.)
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. chopped fresh rosemary
Directions:
Add the first 4 ingredients and mix together until sugar is dissolved then pour over pork chops in a shallow dish. Turn each pork chop to evenly coat both sides. Next place them into the refrigerator for 1 hour to marinate.
Next, mix the remaining ingredients together in a bowl.
Preheat your grill on medium-high heat. Remove pork chops from marinade; discard remaining marinade. Grill 5 to 6 min. on each side or until done (160ºF), brushing occasionally with mayo mixture for extra flavor and enjoy!
