Indian Motorcycle Now Open!

Dick Scott's Indian Motorcycle Detroit officially opened on January 5, 2009. While we were putting the finishing touches on the showroom and unpacking the merchandise that we displayed at the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show the night before, the doors opened and our first customers entered the building.  They were a small group from Ohio who were in the area and eager to see the bikes.

Many of our customers that have come in were very impressed with the quality, look and feel of the bikes. The opening was a huge success because of all the dedicated Indian Motorcycle riders.  By the end of the day the merchandise was unpacked and on display and the bikes were moved into position and as we turned off the lights and locked the doors we felt proud to be part of the Indian Motorcycle story.

If you are an Indian owner and have not yet submitted your picture for display on our website please send it to timjoseph@dickscott.com today!

Hours are Monday-Friday 10am to 7pm, Saturday 10am to 5pm and Closed on Sundays.

Chrysler Unveils Electric Vehicle

The biggest event of the year is upon us. The North American International Auto Show opens to the public this week and Chrysler has unveiled their all new electric vehicle, the Dodge Circuit. This is the reason we will go to the auto show this year. The Dodge Circuit is similar to Chrysler's previous offering introduced back in September but, as promised, has more Dodge styling cues.

The Dodge Circuit is a big step in electric vehicles. It is able to go from 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds and has a top speed of 120 miles per hour. It features a 268-horsepower electric motor, an advanced lithium-ion battery system and a controller that manages energy flow. Owners of the Circuit will be able to travel 150-200 miles between charges and plugs in to a standard 110-Volt outlet.

The 2 seat sports car may not be ideal for everyone, so Chrysler has introduced the 200C EV, a beautiful 4-door sedan. The 200C EV is also on display at this year's auto show although there aren't many details floating around at this time.  In September we were introduced to three electric models. Chrysler could lead the electric vehicle charge and change the face of Detroit with this technology. For you environmentally conscious, the Dodge Circuit does not use any gasoline and leaves virtually no impact on the environment. It uses no more electricity than the amount required to "cook a turkey."  Chrysler has said that the 200C EV will be able to travel up to 40 miles on electric power with a total range of 400 miles.  Daily commuters who travel under 20 miles each way will never need to use the gasoline engine.

Chrysler's ENVI program is truly living up to its name and we are looking forward to bringing you these fine vehicles when they begin to roll out in 2010.
