A campaign to get more staff, physicians and volunteers to receive the flu vaccination has earned The Scarborough Hospital two top honours from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
The Stick It To The Flu campaign helped increase flu vaccination compliance by 116 per cent at the hospital's General campus, and by 113 per cent at the Birchmount campus between 2009 and 2011. Last year, this resulted in The Scarborough Hospital posting the best compliance rate of any Toronto community hospital.
