The only word Tim Liu could use to describe the care he received at The Scarborough Hospital was "perfect."

"The nurses and doctors were all very nice and took really good care of me," said Tim. "The care was just perfect, perfect, perfect."

Diagnosed with kidney cancer, Tim visited TSH to have his right kidney removed, and says since the surgery, he is feeling much better. He added that since he also has diabetes, he really appreciated the services provided by nutrition and food services staff in looking after his diet.

Tim and his wife moved from Tianjin, China to Scarborough 11 years ago and are grateful for the quality of healthcare provided in Canada, especially at TSH.

"It's really important that anybody, rich or poor, can get help," said Tim. "This was really big surgery. The hospital took care of me very well and the whole procedure was covered."

As a nursing student in the United Kingdom, Clint Gunn was inspired to pursue the multi-faceted field of Nephrology, and from overseas, he set his sights on the internationally recognized program at The Scarborough Hospital.

Fast forward several years. Clint joined the TSH team in 2011, and demonstrates continued excellence in his role as Clinical Resource Leader. So much so that when Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) approached TSH to discuss a unique partnership opportunity in nephrology and hemodialysis, he was the prime candidate.

The Unit has consistently demonstrated excellent patient satisfaction scores over the past four quarters. The quality of care is outstanding, and the hard work and dedication of the staff and physicians are reflected in the kind words of many patients.
