Greetings!


We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are concerned with healthcare issues that impact our diverse community to become Annual Members of The Scarborough Hospital. 

Annual Members play a significant role in the hospital's governance structure, including the opportunity to vote at our Annual General Meeting held in June. You will also be invited to a special Members' Breakfast and receive two free parking passes valid at either campus of The Scarborough Hospital. The application deadline is March 27 and membership is valid for one year beginning June 3.

Linda Barlow happily accepts her prize from NFS staff!

Congratulations to Linda Barlow who was the grand prize winner of The Scarborough Hospital's comfort food story contest! Linda's entry about how simple grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup are a favourite comfort food for her family was chosen as the winner by staff in the General campus Nutrition and Food Services department. Linda wins a $200 Oliver and Bonacini gift card that can be used at their Canadian comfort food restaurant Bannock.

Vaccinations are safe and important for infants

Most new or soon-to-be parents out there have struggled, or are struggling, with a common question. Are vaccinations safe for my baby? The answer is yes. 

 

"There is a lot of misinformation floating around out there about the safety of vaccinations," says Dr. Peter Azzopardi, Chief of Paediatric Medicine at TSH. "Vaccines have been said to cause a number of health problems including autism and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). The reality is, these claims are just not true."
