
It is a very rare procedure - only three surgeons in Canada are doing it - and Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Jim Rathbun of The Scarborough Hospital is considered a world leader. On December 19 and 20, patients in the Pediatric Units at The Scarborough Hospital's General and Birchmount campuses received a cuddly surprise when representatives from Toronto Community News arrived to conduct their 'Beary Merry' campaign. Each year, TCN distributes teddy bears to children and newborns in community hospitals throughout Toronto. The bears are generously sponsored by a variety of organizations.
