
Birchmount welcomes Toronto's first baby of 2011 The first baby born in 2011 in Toronto was delivered at TSH's Birchmount campus at 12:01:40 a.m. to Afsheen and Tariq Khan. The baby girl, named Manaal, arrived four weeks early and weighed in at just four pounds, six ounces. Dr. Sheldon Fruitman delivered the baby, while TSH nurses gave the family a large gift basket filled with baby toys, clothes, blankets and food. Police Board appoints Dr. Noria Dr. Dhun Noria, TSH's Chief of Laboratory Services, has been appointed to the seven-member Toronto Police Services Board. Dr. Noria has served on numerous boards and committees throughout her plus-30 years in the healthcare field, including the TSH Board of Directors and the TSH Foundation. She also chairs the building capital campaign of the Zorostrian Society of Ontario and sits on the board for the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care. > MORE |

In Memory donations purchase vital equipment Nearly $20,000 was donated in memory of Nancy Ho Wang to celebrate her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and, most of all, a wonderful person. These donations enabled the hospital to purchase four low air mattresses used during the treatment of advanced pressure ulcers, burns or intractable pain. > MORE |
