Consensus Summit brings
stakeholders together

CAP logoMembers of the community joined staff, physicians and volunteers at a special Consensus Summit on Oct. 26 to listen to-and provide input on-proposals developed during the hospital's Clinical Action Planning Process. The proposals represent months of deliberate planning by 11 Communities of Practice, and are designed to map out a strong future for TSH that puts the focus on improving the patient experience.

"We gathered feedback from more than 3,000 patients to find out about their wants and needs," says Anne Marie Males, Vice President Patient Experience. "They told us time and again that they want to see shorter wait times and to be treated with respect. Our approach in creating the Community of Practice submissions was to think outside traditional hospital silos and develop patient-centred models of care that truly addressed the issues our patients raised."

The 250 attendees at the Summit had the opportunity to ask questions, provide input and evaluate the proposals on a consistent set of criteria. The proposals will now be sent to the Clinical Action Planning Steering Committee to determine which ones will be further developed into business cases. Community of Practice groups could begin operationalizing approved business cases as early as November.
