The Scarborough Hospital launches clinical action planning process
 The
Scarborough Hospital has embarked on a process that will help define its
clinical priorities over the next five years. Dubbed "Mission to Action-Our

will help define areas and services TSH needs to expand in order to better meet
community needs. To

We love our volunteers!

This
year, National Volunteer Week in Canada will be celebrated April 18 - 24. At
The Scarborough Hospital, we are so fortunate to have more than 800 dedicated
and selfless individuals who bring their time, talents and positive outlooks to
our hospital. From fund raising to patient support, the work they do is
invaluable to our organization and the community. If
you have an experience with one of our volunteers you'd like to share, or if
you'd simply like to say thank you, please forward your comments and these will be shared. If
you'd like to learn more about how you can be part of this wonderful team,

you'd like to view a wonderful video tribute to our volunteers, click here.

In the news
The
Scarborough Hospital was the first hospital in the world to use two imaging systems
in combination to enhance our physicians' ability to accurately diagnose
cardiac issues. For more information on this story in The Scarborough Mirror, click here. A Nurse Practitioner Outreach Team at The Scarborough Hospital has been providing care for residents in Long Term Care facilities for whom a transfer to an Emergency Department is likely. The success of the team has been helping reduce wait times and provide more appropriate care to seniors. The story from Hospital News appears here. Banning smoking is proving to be effective at reducing hospital admissions, and Dr. John Oyston was interviewed on Global TV about his campaign to get patients to stop smoking prior to surgery. The clip is available here. |
