The Scarborough Hospital launches
clinical action planning process

CAP logoThe Scarborough Hospital has embarked on a process that will help define its clinical priorities over the next five years. Dubbed "Mission to Action-Our Five Year Plan to Strengthen Clinical Services at TSH, this planning process will help define areas and services TSH needs to expand in order to better meet community needs.

This year, National Volunteer Week in Canada will be celebrated April 18 - 24.
           
At The Scarborough Hospital, we are so fortunate to have more than 800 dedicated and selfless individuals who bring their time, talents and positive outlooks to our hospital. From fund raising to patient support, the work they do is invaluable to our organization and the community.

In the news

The Scarborough Hospital was the first hospital in the world to use two imaging systems in combination to enhance our physicians' ability to accurately diagnose cardiac issues. For more information on this story in The Scarborough Mirror, click here.
 
A Nurse Practitioner Outreach Team at The Scarborough Hospital has been providing care for residents in Long Term Care facilities for whom a transfer to an Emergency Department is likely. The success of the team has been helping reduce wait times and provide more appropriate care to seniors. The story from Hospital News appears here.

Banning smoking is proving to be effective at reducing hospital admissions, and Dr. John Oyston was interviewed on Global TV about his campaign to get patients to stop smoking prior to surgery. The clip is available here.
