Dick Traum Last December, returning from the Palm Beach Marathon on Jet Blue, it was thrilling to see that the in-flight video was about our Donald Arthur. I had been with him earlier in the day, and, lo and behold, there he was on the screen. It was a fantastic story, produced by Yahoo, about his receiving a heart transplant, joining Achilles, completing the marathon, and continuing to succeed. The Yahoo staffers who worked on the piece said it was their favorite of all the stories they have covered. They were so pleased they submitted it to the Webby Awards and, to our delight, it won!   Read more...

Achilles Brand New GM SilveradoOne of the most exciting, thrilling and overwhelmingly awesome things to happen to the Achilles Freedom Team has been the development of a relationship with the wonderful patriots at GM Military Discount. They have supported our program in every way imaginable, most recently by donating a brand new fully customized 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD. The truck was driven by Rose Spaulding and Linda Stouffer from Detroit GM headquarters and delivered to our office on April 8th by Spencer Carter and John Gahan of Chevrolet. Grateful Achilles staff members, board chair Bruce Mosler, and Freedom Team members Evan Marcy and Freddy Delossantos cheered the truck's arrival.   Read more ....

Achilles Kids Glee Fun RunAchilles Kids finds reasons to celebrate all year long! We wore green and sported shamrocks for our St. Patrick's Day fun run; worked on our dribbling and shooting during March Madness; told jokes and played silly pranks at our Funny Fun Run; brushed up on geography and dreamed of exotic travels at Where in the World is Achilles Kids; built penguin nests and spied our favorite creatures at Zoopalooza; and sang our hearts out at our Broadway/GLEE celebration. Special thanks to Achilles photographer Larry Sillen for capturing many special moments at our workouts.
