1,300 Special Olympics Athletes and Coaches Heading for Binghamton
The 2009 State Summer Games is Special Olympics New York's Largest Competition (SCHENECTADY, NY) - More than 1,300 athletes and coaches from across the state will attend the 2009 State Summer Games, the largest Special Olympics competition held annually in New York. It's Law Enforcement Torch Run Season!
If you see a sea of light blue shirts coming up your street
give the runners a little honk in support of the Law Enforcement Torch
Run! Thousands of officers from Buffalo
to Long Island will be carrying the Torch through their local communities to
build awareness and raise money for their local Special Olympics
competitions. The Torch will make its
way across the state for the Final Leg which will see the Torch travel from Syracuse
to Binghamton to light the cauldron to signify the opening of the 2009 State

Outside Summer Fun for Everyone Seasonal fundraisers slated to benefit Special Olympics New York

Bresnan Bike Tour, June 12, 2009 < link The ride was inspired by the camaraderie of its original participants and their
desire to use their passion for cycling to assist people less fortunate than
themselves. The tour is a personal challenge to the riders and has grown to be a
tremendous benefit to its beneficiaries, having raised more than 3.75 million
dollars since its inception in 1990. The tour has made a significant impact on
many lives, from over 3,500 athletes that participate annually in Special
Olympics with intellectually disabled children and adults who receive necessary
support to live independent and productive lives from Westchester Arc.

With nine satellite start locations around the state, and eight more satellite starts locations in surrounding states, the motorcycle rides will end at The Farmington Club in Farmington, CT. Dream Ride 2009 is sponsored by Bozzuto's Inc. and The Hometown Foundation. In addition, Dream Show 2009 welcomes all makes, models and years to show. There will be 9 Connecticut motorcycle satellite start locations leaving from Ellington, Columbia, Bristol, Stratford, Groton, East Hartford, Danbury, Guilford and Farmington, as well as 2 motorcycle satellite start locations from New York and Vermont and 1 from Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.

amateur championship conducted by The PGA of America, will mark its third year
with a new title and an enhancement to its format and a third consecutive return
