FALL GAMES 2008
Triumph in Rochester
On October 3-4, nearly 1,200 athletes and coaches came together in Rochester to celebrate and compete in Special Olympics New York's 2008 State Fall Games. Athletes had the opportunity to demonstrate their outstanding abilities in a multitude of competitive sports, including Cycling, Soccer, Bocce, Cross Country Running, Equestrian, Roller Skating, Softball and Skills events. Throughout the weekend, the athletes' extraordinary demonstrations verified how vigorous training, courage and commitment to a given sport can lead to not only medals, but a true sense of accomplishment.

| Special Olympics New York Awarded $47,000 Grant from Wal-Mart Foundation
to Promote Healthy Athletes
SCHENECTADY, New York (October 8, 2008) - The Wal-Mart Foundation has awarded a $47,000 grant to Special Olympics New York to support the statewide organization's Healthy Athletes initiative.
"Special Olympics New York is pleased to announce that Wal-Mart has joined us in supporting our athletes as a corporate sponsor of our Healthy Athlete program for 2008/09," said Neal J. Johnson, President & CEO of Special Olympics New York.
