September 2010
Greetings!

Back to School
Autumn can be a difficult time, we have lots of adjustments to make: the weather is changing, routine is being re-established and stress is on the increase as we get back into our winter/work routine.

In other words, a perfect time to use your essences.
Very often we forget to use the tools we have until we really, really need them.  So why not do it differently this year, preempt a crisis by checking to see who needs essences in your family now.

School
Does your child come home from school in a *mood* ?

Introducing A New Blog for Adults
As a response to people who keep asking me to write about what's happening to adults and which essences are useful now I've started a new blog called When the Shift Hits the Fan, a slightly irreverent look at the state we're in with info about essences and processes that have helped me so far.

The first post, All Shook Up talks about why so many people appear to be in crisis and what to do if you're one of them.

p.s. How do you know if you're going through the shift? Simple really, your life falls apart in some or all of these areas - job, relationships, money and health. Oh la la.

until the next time,

love from Ann

4 bottles in a row

Does your child ever come home from school, as we say in Ireland, like a little anti-Christ? Or alternatively, wiped out and grey in the face?

You may be wondering if it's something you did or didn't put in the sandwiches but the likely hood is that you have a sensitive child.

A sensitive child is, well... exactly that, sensitive. They feel things more acutely than others on all levels of their being.

  • They feel energy from computers, mobile phones, wi-fi equipment and fluorescent lights
  • They feel emotions from other people
  • They feel stuck energy in people and places
  • They feel noise in their body
They also react to foods that don't suit them, find nylon clothes intolerable (check out the school shirt) and are aggravated by chemicals and the list goes on.

School is a difficult environment for the sensitive child.

At home your child has control, more or less, over their environment. They can choose which room to be in, they can go out in the garden when they want to, they can eat and drink when they want to and only play with children they invite into their space.

In most schools, this all changes. Your child is expected to conform to a set routine,  to stay in one place and be around children they wouldn't normally mix with. They are not free to ground themselves by going out in the fresh air or discharge dissonant energy from their field as they would at home.

So what can you do to help your child recover from a day in school ?

One of the best things you can do is to step into your child's shoes and see what it feels like. Contrary to some adults' opinions, children are not another species, they just have a more updated OS than we have. If you can imagine how they feel, then you can easily work out what would make you feel better and then try asking them if the same things would work for them too.

So imagine that all your senses are amped up to the max. Imagine that you've been out late and are feeling fragile, everything is too intense, too noisy, too much.  Now you're getting an idea of what your sensitive child feels like every day.

Now are you surprised at the state they come home in?

We need to teach children how to manage their energy, what to do when they feel like exploding, how to find a way to let go of all that energy without killing someone.

Read more about how to do this in a  blog I wrote about creating home for sensitive children.

The following essences may be useful, read up on them by clicking on the links and make your selection with the help of your child.

Dosage: add drops of the selected essences to a drink and have it ready at the school gate.
Alternatively, make up a spray bottle and spray around the car and/or in the home.
