Axel Steiner-USA, FEI O Judge and trainer
Axel started riding as a 9 year old in Germany and later attended the well known riding schools of Warendorf and von Neindorff. After moving to the USA in 1961, he competed on his own horses and on horses owned by the US Modern Pentathlon Team until his military duties interfered. He received his first national judges licence in 1968, and was promoted by the FEI to Official status (FEI-O, now FEI Five Star*****) in 1988. Axel has judged in 35 different countries, from Zambia to World Cup Finals, Pan American, and Olympic Games. After retiring from the military in 1988, he has also concentrated on teaching, and is now a much sought after clinician throughout the country.
New Video-New 2011 USEF Test, 3-1,
Here the rider goes through the test, as Axel gives commentary on what he is seeing.
Afterwards the test is openly discussed and certain pieces are re-done
to answer questions of the spectators.
see the test ridden, slight connection issues and flying change problems. At the end they work to make these better.
New Video-New 2011 USEF Test, 3-3,
see the test ridden, here is a very good example shown of walk pirouettes vs. turn on the haunches
this test is very carefully and conservatively ridden. Axel works with this rider on turning a ride that was filled with a lack of engagement and jump and energy into a something that looks like it has much more power and energy. Excellent work on improving the schooling pirouette....from very little hind end movement to a real schooling pirouette with jump, its always good to see what are horses are capable of when we actually ask them to work harder. Axel gives a great analogy of visualizing a car shifting into different gears and explains that this is what he wants be able to see as a judge during transitions.
New Video-New 2011 USEF test, 4-3,
here you can see the new movement, reinback to canter, extended canter on the diagonal with a transition and flying change ON the diagonal. Schooling pirouettes are demonstrated very well.
demonstration ride with a lack of hind leg crossing, watch video to see what is lacking and how they work on bettering the movement. You also can see some areas that Axel points out that are simply super exercises to incorporate into your daily training.
Axel discusses the final impression you make when performing your test and the importance of it and how it can affect your collective marks. This is a beautiful demonstration of an I1 test.
this test has some very normal piaffe and passage issues which Axel addresses with instruction at the end.
New Video-Grand Prix/S Level,
here is a demonstration of a nice Grand Prix ride with a few mistakes. This is an excellent visual of what athleticism, movement and energy should look like. The half pass zig zag is exeptionally well ridden and piaffe/passage work is a focus at the end of the ride, where you will visually see a marked difference.
Dr. Ulf Moller-GERCurrently managing and head trainer for the auction horses for PSI, he has taken the PSI auction to new heights and the PSI horses are the most sought after as their auction prices reflect, where recently a young dressage horse sold for two million euros. Once a great auction riders, producing a string of very expensive horses for the famed Hanoverian Verband auction. Ulf was also the sales manager at the Hanoverian Auction stables in Verden until 1998 when he joined the highly successful private barn, the PSI dressage stables where he is currently the manager under the direction of Ulrich Kasselmann. Ulf has a string of very impressive riding achievements. Riding the most impressive stallion, Sandro Hit, he won the best equine of the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses 1999. Also add to Ulf's list of accomplishments, five times Bundeschampion (German Young Horses Championship) from 1999 - 2002, World Champion with 5 year old Don Davidoff in 2000 and placed 2nd in the FEI breeding Championship for Young Dressage horses 2001 riding Placido. Currently Ulf's horses have been placing in the top 3 year after year in the German Bundeschampionate and Verden's Young Horse Championships.
New Video- If you think you have an FEI 6 yr. old, keep up with Dr. Mollers' training to ensure you are on the right track. Watch as he gives you a simple technique on straightening your horse, all the while explaining that everything is either in bend, or in straightness. Additionally, you can see proper frame and carriage in this horse, at one point he asks the rider to open up the neck a bit and explains how this should be done. Lastly they work on the lateral movements, specifically preparation for the half pass, giving and showing a nice exercise they use to prepare for the half pass on a straight line.

 Col. Christian Carde-FRA
Dedicated to the teaching of horsemanship, Colonel Christian Carde's first riding experiences were in the discipline of show jumping and eventing. He spent 26 years at the Cadre Noir in Saumur, where he became "ecuyer en chef" or head trainer. He has served in various capacities on the French Olympic Team, competitor, coach, and chef d'equipe over many different Olympiads.
New Video-very basic training level video, explaining something soo critical to riding success.....contact and forward. Here the rider demonstrates their usual way of riding which is with very little contact, at all gaits, at all times. With this, the horse goes forward, however, when the rider asks for a normal amount of contact, the forward aid is lost. Col. Carde, explains taking and giving, how to use your fingers to help gain contact and shows the rider how to achieve a harmony between contact and go forward, so she can begin to work with a horse that is happy, understanding and begining to move over its back.

This video specifically addresses questions about test errors and how they are handled and does a wonderful job at showing and explaining the difference between a free walk and an extended walk.
Jim Masterson teaches a unique method of bodywork that recognizes and then follows the visual responses of the horse to touch, to find and release accumulated muscle and structural stress in key junctions of the horse's body that most affect performance. This Method creates an interaction between the horse and practitioner in which the horse participates in the process of release. It is an equally effective technique for any equine discipline. Due to its intuitive, gentle and interactive nature, it is a wonderful way to increase trust, bonding and understanding between human and horse.
Jim was the Equine Massage Therapist for the United States Endurance Team at the 2006 & 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games, and the 2008 FEI World Endurance Championships in Terrenganu, Malaysia. He uses this Method on U.S. and International equine competitors in FEI Grand Prix, Nation's Cup, Pan American and World Cup show jumping events and on members of the USET Singles Driving horses and Jumping teams.

Tried and True
(my personal review)
In Harmony with Nature
I recently used this product line of insect repellent which I really liked using. The most important factor for me was that it was organic. Since it is sprayed daily on my horse, that is a really important factor since I dont think any of us want to purposely put chemicals on our horses skin. In essence that is what we do, with non organic products. I always ask myself, "would I put this on my body, would I eat this, etc..". Equinature only uses human grade vegetable and plant based resources in all of their products. Next factor is....does it work? The answer is YES! It worked just as well as any of the other insect repellents I have used and that partnered with the fact that is all natural is the deciding factor for me....how about you? EQUINATURE
