Over Night Camps


Camp Mendocino:

Serves ages 8-14, and has a leadership program for teens. Apply through your local Boys and Girls Club. Active Boys and Girls Clubs members get a discounted rate of $90.00 for one camp session. Regular rates are $450 for a ten day session. Register by phone: 415-445-5476, pick up an application at any San Francisco Boys and Girls Club, or click here to download application forms

Camp Jones-Gulch:

Serves ages 8-16, offers Leadership Programs for ages 15-17, and holds one and two-week sessions throughout summer. Financial assistance and scholarships are available- you will need to submit a financial assistance application along with your most recent tax return or other income documentation. There is also a $100 deposit per child. Apply online for camp and scholarships, or download their forms and mail them in. You can call the camp at 650-747-1200

Day Camps

Community Circle Dance Camp:

Serves ages 7-14, and runs from 10am-4pm for one week: Monday June 23-Friday June 27. Classes are held at the Tenderloin Community School. Fees are $250 per student, but full and partial scholarships are available! To qualify for a full scholarship when applying, parents must show: Free/ Reduced School Lunch eligibility letter OR a copy of their Medi-Cal Card. There is a registration fee of $15 for one child, $20 for two to four children, or $25 for groups of five or more. Boys and Girls Club:

The Boys and Girls Club offers extended summer hours of 11 am to 6 pm for children ages 6 and up. To look for a Boys and Girls Club near you, click here or, if you'd just like more info click here.

Tenderloin After School Program:

Provides a wide range of free services. Serves ages 5-18, and offers extended summer hours. Located at 201 Eddy Street, you can reach them by phone at 415-776-8407 but should apply for their summer program in person!

Salvation Army's Day Camp Program:

Offer services to any child who has completed Kindergarten up to those who have completed 7th grade. Runs from June 18-August 17, and costs $50 for the entire summer. All are eligible, but because there are limited spots, preference is given to students living in the Tenderloin or who have attended the Tenderloin Community School. The Salvation Army is religiously affiliated. You can address concerns about this with
the staff at the Salvation Army.

Dependency Drug Court Child

 


The San Francisco Dependency Drug Court is a 12 month voluntary program which enables parents with a drug dependency to reunite with their children while receiving court supervised treatments.

 

To be eligible, parents must:

 

1) have a demonstrated problem with substance abuse,

2) have an open petition with the dependency court and

3) be receiving family maintenance or family reunification services through Family and Children's Services (FCS).

 

If a parent meets the elligiblity requirements and would like to participate in the program they can be referred through FCS' Emergency Response Units and Multi-Function Units or any judicial officer, Homeless Prenatal Program (HPP) staff, protective service workers, attorneys, and assessment staff.
