| One Year Anniversary of Cardiac Program
February 7th was an exciting day at the Chaplin Family YMCA as participants in the Smart Start to a Healthy Heart program reunited with instructors, friends, and supporters to celebrate the program's one-year anniversary.
Smart Start and other wellness programs are designed to enhance health and quality of life. Many graduates go on to enjoy broader participation in YMCA programming.

| STRONG KIDS CAMPAIGN 2012 | |
National Campaign Kicks Off
The YMCA Strong Kids Campaign has officially begun! The Strong Kids Campaign raises money to enable kids and families who need financial assistance to participate in the much-needed YMCA programs to help them realize their full potential.
Last year over 40,000 children, teens and young adults in Waterloo Region participated in YMCA programs. Many of them are from families struggling to meet basic needs. We want to help these kids and families again with our fundraising campaign.
Every kid deserves a chance!

 Recognizing Those Who Give Back
Immigrant and Employment Services hosted a Mentors Recognition event at Golf's Steakhouse for the dedicated individuals who give the gift of time to mentor internationally trained professional clients.
Since 2006, Mentors have generously shared their professional expertise and wisdom to guide immigrants integrating into the Canadian workforce.
