Each
week I receive e-mails from both existing customers and people
recommended to contact me. Just last week I received a couple of very
interesting requests, so now I've decided to issue regular postings
to my private database of clients and friends around the world
telling you all about some of the things in which people are
interested and how I am able to assist.
Firstly,
let me say how colorful Israel is at the moment with the blaze of
floral decorations all around the countryside.
The celebration of
Israel's 60th
year of independence opened officially in May, but continues
throughout the year.
During
the recent International Writers' Festival, acclaimed authors Nadine
Gordimer, Nicole Krauss, Nathan Englander, and Jonathan Safran Foer
dialogued with Israel's finest writers: Amos Oz, David Grossman,
Etgar Keret, and Eli Amir to standing room only crowds. The setting
which overlooked the Old City from the Montefiore windmill was
spectacular.
The
Israel Festival opens this week all over the country for an entire
month; if you are visiting in June, be sure to get tickets.
But
let's return to those requests. The first letter arrived from a
customer of mine in New York who wrote the following:
My
wife and I visit Israel regularly and we always make sure to contact
you in advance for assistance in planning our vacation. At the moment, I have a different request and would like your input.
In
June this year I have organized a mission of some 25 businessmen, all
first-time visitors, to visit Israel and explore investment
opportunities. We will be staying in both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv
during this 10-day visit and I want to make every effort to ensure
they will enjoy every minute of their forthcoming visit. Would it be
possible for you to compile a list of the best restaurants in both
cities and the types of food for which they are best known?"
So,
I carefully compiled the list and sent it. With so many fine
restaurants from which to choose in both cities, he's probably got
a tough assignment in making final choices.
The
other request was from a family in London who wanted to attend the
Opera Workshops conducted by the International Vocal Arts Institute.
These are held each year in Tel Aviv during August. The request was
for tickets and an accommodation package. I was happy to fulfill this
request.
I
do welcome your e-mails and would like to receive even more. Please
be assured that every request will always be treated with my utmost
care and attention to detail.
If
you've got any suggestions for Judy's Jottings, please let me
know. I look forward to serving you in the future.
