The Cheapest Way to Tune your Edges
While stonegrinding or using precision tools do a better job, we thought we'd also show you a less expensive option: The Ergo Race.  Despite its name, it's not a tool meant for tuning racing skis.  The Ergo Race is a do-it-all tool which enables the tuner to apply (or sharpen at) 2 different base edge bevels and 4 different side edge bevels.  Here's how to use it:

The Toko Ergo Race enables the tuner to sharpen a base edge at .5 or 1.0 degrees and a side edge at 86, 87, 88, and 89 degrees.  It comes with a Swiss chrome dipped file.  The Ergo Race costs $38.

Checking in with Cheever

Jonathan Cheever of US Snowboarding's SBX squad here in Veyzonnaz, Switzerland at the moment. A week ago, Alex Deibold, Graham Watanabe and myself flew over to Austria to get some pow riding in before our dual World Cup's in Switzerland. The rest of our team stayed behind in the States riding on ice while we were drowning in powder.

This is a little different than the normal E-Blast. Sometimes riding pow recharges the batteries more than winning a race. So my wax secret for pow: make sure you aren't the slowest guy in your crew. That is usually not too fun.

Even though it is only January 16th, I feel this winter is going to fly by. Through February 29th I am only scheduled to be home for 8 days. Rather than looking forward to the rest of my winter, I am trying to concentrate on these next races as I need to podium or I am not making it to my other events... or going into serious credit card debt.

Well enough whining. Enjoy some of the photos from my five consecutive pow-days in Austria and wish me luck on my next few events.

Poma accessed natural hip... 1 min turn around

Same Poma.... But this is a small head wall. No one rides off piste here.
